Recorded at the fourth annual Swampstravaganza IV in downtown Sault Ste Marie, this short live EP spans two tracks from Haggith's four-track live set. The show took place on 10 May 2014, and Haggith's appearance served as the launch party for his record A Place Of Our Own, which was released that same day. Board audio was recorded in real-time by Dirk Becker of Sykotyk Rampage, who supplied and manned all live sound and recording equipment. While four tracks were performed, only two were included on the release due to audio quality issues.
Haggith's appearance at this event was notable not just for the celebration of his new studio album release, but also for the fact that Haggith performed live with backing tracks which featured his playing of other instruments. The end result culminated in a live set featuring Haggith playing drums, bass, guitar, and supplying vocal work. The backing tracks, which consisted of overlayed drums and bass, were recorded at PaperClip Productions under the supervision of recording engineers Daniel Horton, Blair Burch, and Cory Burch.
The live tape was supplied to Haggith after his performance, and was subsequently analyzed, mixed, and mastered over the following day. Some forty-eight hours after the show, the EP was released publicly. The release of Live At Swampstravaganza IV received limited media support, but was featured in a 30-minute live broadcast featuring Haggith on Noxtrom TV's long-running talk show Betty On The Go, in Windsor, ON, during which Haggith performed "This Potato May Be Used As A Flotation Device" from A Place Of Our Own.
This short live release was made public independently, and only for digital download. No physical pressings were ever produced.
